Fighting for socialism in the 21st century: Towards justice, sustainability and people’s power

January 2-5, Women’s College, University of Sydney

In the face of global environmental, economic and social crises that threaten billions of lives, if not the very survival of humanity, the need for fundamental social change is urgent. The world can’t wait, and the question of how to construct sufficiently strong social movements, fighting trade unions and alternative political organisations that can stop the capitalist parties’ neo-liberal rampage, warmongering and greenwashing confronts us all.

Answering this question will be the focus of discussions at the Socialist Alliance’s 7th national conference, sponsored by Green Left Weekly. The conference agenda (read it here) includes educational workshops, and panel presentations and discussions to plan the Socialist Alliance’s policies and campaign activities for 2010.

    Download a registration form here.

    Read the draft agenda here).

The registration fees for all conference participants (including delegates) are:

  • Whole conference: $60 solidarity /$50 waged / $30 concession
  • Two days: $40 solidarity /$30 waged /$15 concession
  • One day/one session: $20 solidarity /$15 waged /$5 concession
  • We urge all those interested to register as soon as possible: this will help the conference organisers get a clear idea of numbers and therefore what is needed in the areas of accommodation, workshop rooms, catering and all the rest that a big national conference entails.

If you have any questions about registration, please get in touch with Lisa Macdonald on 0413 031 108 or Aaron Roden on 0434 540 903.
