i find it amusing that socialists are promoting using murdochs channel for their revolution, and allowing their media to be subverted by murdochs advertising feeds.

delete your support for capitalist exploitation of the internet and support the opensource solution

If you want to be technical Glen I'm pretty sure Murdoch owns Myspace but not youtube...
At some point we have to give up on trying to pretend our own shit doesnt stink and accept that we havent gotten rid of capitalism yet and engage with it by default. Capitalism doesnt cease to exist if you turn your back on it. It would be great if it was so easy but it aint. BTW was your computer made with union labour? or are you supporting capitalist explotation? We can't agonise over every little thing like using youtube, but do try to be ethical where we can. Youtube might not be the most ethical videosharing service but its popular, its where 'joe bloggs' looks for what we want them to be able to find.
I'd never heard of engagemedia but it looks good.
Thanks for the tip and i will at least try and get my ad on engage, i don't know about everyone else, we are very busy at the mo'.

Spurious argument Zane, no computer is made in ideal conditions so choice is not available. Maybe OLPC might have an impact on this but I doubt it highly.

However when one has a choice of open source or closed source software, then supporting the use of closed source or the use of a multinationals website is against what should be socialist fundamentals.

Youtube = Google and if you read the terms of use anything uploaded becomes their property to do with as they will. Same with many of the other "social" networking sites all content becomes the property of the site. However I do agree with using these sites to spread a message but strongly disagree with them being linked here -- Read forum post lol
