New national broadsheet
Planning is well under way for the production of a new national SA broadsheet, due out in early September, in time for the September 12-13 international day of protest against war and globalisation, and actions against the occupation of Iraq.
The broadsheet will include:
an article on the US-Australia Free Trade Agreement and how it is a threat to working people in Australia, not our bosses
an article on the occupation of Iraq, realities and resistance, and the dangers of new wars
an article on Australia’s wars in our region
an article linking the issues of war, “free trade” and the neo-liberal attacks on social services and workers
an article on the current attacks on the CFMEU and NTEU
coverage of the growing fight back by union militants
a piece on the Indigenous wages campaign
an “action” section covering the Cancun actions, future anti-war actions, Iraq solidarity projects and a list of resources - model motions, petitions, information pamphlets, etc.
The broadsheet will supplement a new national four-page A3 brochure being produced by mid-August for use around the ACTU Congress in Melbourne, and beyond, which will focus on the government’s current attacks on Medicare, higher education and the trade unions.
