After two years of consistent effort and perseverance, a branch of the Socialist Alliance has been formed in Taree, north of Newcastle in NSW. The meeting to form the branch was held in the suburb of Chatham on November 2.
The branch has seven members. The election of office bearers was put on notice for our next meeting, to be held on November 30.
The meeting discussed standing me as a candidate in the March 2004 local council elections, and talked about the policies and issues we should campaign on. We also discussed how to build the branch, and planned a video night and social for November 23.
