Welcome to the homepage of the Socialist Alliance 2002 Tasmanian election campaign

The word "socialist" will appear on ballot papers in the coming July 20 state elections for the first time since 1976. The Socialist Alliance will be running six candidates — two each in Denison, Franklin and Bass. We are campaigning for refugee rights, to defend and extend health, education and public transport services, for genuine environmental protection, for women's rights and for justice for Tasmania's indigenous people.

This is an unprecedented and ambitious campaign that puts people before profits.

Help us build the socialist alternative in the election and beyond!
